The Swan was refurbished in August 2011 when Sandra took over The Swan and made many changes the Swan is now a family and pet friendly traditional local pub based in the middle of a bustling high street which serves food daily Monday to Saturday 10.00 TO 8.30pm and Sunday 10.00 to 6.00pm. There is a self-contained function room ideal for parties and corporate events, skittle alley, beer garden, BT sports and has traditionally styled bed and breakfast rooms which are decorated to suit the era of the building yet with a modern feel in light pale pastel colours overlooking the high street.
The Swan is steeped with character and old fashioned charm. The Swan was the first original coach house in Thornbury and there is only 1 other building that was built prior to The Swan which is Thornbury Castle the back wall dates back to 1659, most of the building are grade listed 1 and 2.
We have raised in total £43,500 for various local charities through our fundraising events!! The Swan has been awarded the Regional Community Pub of the year for Bristol / surrounding area and South West Wales - we have won £5000 to put towards a Community Based charity. During 2014 the Swan won the Gold Award in the Thornbury In Bloom for the array of colour and its arrangements of flowers. The Swan won a silver award in March 2015 for Fairtrade hot drinks and being an active supporter of Fairtrade.

Had afternoon tea here today with my Mum. A lovely, old style affair on a rubbish weather Sunday afternoon. Not been there before but will certainly return- very friendly atmosphere, scrumptious food and lashings of tea. Will sample the savoury food next time! A special mention to the lovely young man who served us- he was delightful and very courteous. Good times!

I took my friend here yesterday for a Gold afternoon tea and we were greeted warmly and given our bubbly garnished with fresh strawberries. Then we had delicious finger sandwiches (of our choice) I had ham and my friend had lamb on lovely fresh brown bread served with salad garnish. I have often not been given a choice of sandwiches and rarely any salad with them so this was really appreciated and obviously completely freshly made. We had huge pots of tea with it (unfortunately no earl grey) with offers of refills and we didn't feel rushed at all even though we were rolling into the evening dining slot time. Next we were served warm fruit scones with a lovely selection of little cakes, carrot, custard slice, chocolate and cheesecake. Everything was perfect. We went away very satisfied and will return! For people who don't know Thornbury, the pub is situated in the High Street with lots of shops to look in. a good place for browsing before or after an afternoon tea!
